Tips To Go Eco-Friendly In Interior Design
Green Design describes an interior or building that is designed to minimize impact on the environment. This can also help the well-being and health of the people that live in it, due to reduced toxins in the materials used. In this post, I will give you three tips that can help you become more eco-friendly in your home.
The first tip is using an eco-friendly paint in every room in the house. This will help the well-being of a pregnant mother and also a baby. Sometimes non-eco-friendly paints can make babies and young children sick from breathing in the fumes. The eco-friendly paint that I would recommend is called Duration, sold at Sherwin Williams. The paint comes in all different sheens such as matte, satin and semi-gloss. Also, it is really washable for easy clean up.
A second way to help make your home eco-friendly is installing a recycled glass kitchen countertop. This is colored recycled glass mixed into a concrete, cement, or resin base. These countertops come in a variety of different colors, are very durable, and look great.
My third tip is using reclaimed wood in your home. You can use this type of product on your floor, walls or furniture. Reclaimed wood is 100% virgin timber which is reclaimed from wooden structures usually built centuries ago. This can include industrial building or barns. The reclaimed wood normally comes in antique oak, antique factory plank and antique walnut. This wood would look amazing in any home.
